Trouble starting a charge

When you plug the charger into the car, the two need to 'talk' to each other and send information back and forth. Sometimes this does not work like it should.

  • Ensure you are in the right app. We've just moved EV charging into Z App so make sure you have the latest version of this and update if necessary
  • Where there are multiple chargers or connectors, check that you have selected the correct one. It's very easy to mix these up. This is where a charge tag can make this easier (pick one up for free at a Z station) as you don't have to select the connector in the app
  • Our chargers are designed to time out if you don't start a charge within 90 seconds. If it has been longer, please reset the charger by unplugging the cable and placing it back into the holster and then try again
  • Check your payment method is up to date in your account (i.e has your credit/debit card expired?)
  • If on your last charge, your payment method declined, you will need to update your card as necessary to clear the debt before being able to charge again
