Z Energy supporting Road Safety Week

May 26, 2025

With around one million customers visiting a Z service station across Aotearoa New Zealand every week, with the majority driving in to fuel up, road safety is an issue close to Z Energy (Z) and our communities.

Road Safety Week (12-18 May), saw communities and groups from across the country participating in activities to promote road safety awareness.

In partnership with New Zealand Police, Z held events at four Z service stations - Z Rutherford, Z Andy Bay, Z Queenstown, and Z Tauhara.

Senior Constable Mel Allen joined our Z Rutherford site team to share road safety messages and reminders with customers in-store and on the forecourt.

“Road safety is a priority for us because every life matters. Preventing accidents means protecting families and keeping our community safe.”

“During Road Safety Week, we reminded everyone that small actions – like slowing down and staying alert – can save lives,” says Mel.

Retailer Jamie Hobby says it was a successful event sharing important messages.

“We are face-to-face with drivers every day, marking a critical opportunity to reinforce road safety messages as people are out on the roads.”

“Last week’s events were an amazing opportunity to make a real impact in our community. It’s great to partner with Police to share these important road safety messages with our customers” says Jamie.

Z is committed to road safety and ensuring our customers reach their destinations safely.
